Who Am I?

I’m an artist and a storyteller living in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I make digital and physical art, from 2D and 3D animations, to oil painting and ceramics. I love telling stories through my work…it’s why I got into making art in the first place! I got a BFA in Fine Art and Graphic Design from Calvin University, & I’ve spent the past two years working as an animator. I am an avid rock climber, and I have way too many hobbies. Outside of work hours, I’m likely making music, reading, or making a big plate of panang curry.

My design philosophy

In my experience, creating anything requires two complementary skills: problem solving, and physical execution. Compelling art requires the problem-solving acumen to bring a client’s ideas to life, matched by physical and technical skills built out of practice and iteration. I strive to develop myself in both of these areas to become a better teammate and collaborator, and to deepen my craft.
